With 40 charter members, mostly students aged 12-27 and a sprinkling of young professionals, the Dumaguete Leo Club was born on March 28, 1970 under the sponsorship of the Dumaguete City Host Lions Club.

The club has since accomplished a number of community projects on its own, assisted the Lions Clubs in their activities, and participated in inter-club conventions and workshops. Its program has enabled the members to serve whole-heartedly and sincerely, enriching the cultural and social life of the community.
